Once algonquin territory, this territory saw its first colonists, mostly Irish, at the beginning of the XIX century, they left some interesting artefacts such as (churches, schools, wheat and saw mills). Gore has 6.2% of its territory covered by water of which includes the splendid lake Baron, with its elongated form. Here the forest is covered of conifers and leafed trees, coupled with the water makes them inseparable elements that makes Gore a sought after vacation area. In any season the landscape is absolutely magnificent! The municipality has welcomed over the years many seasonal residents. Over time its become frequent to see some transform there little chalet's into full time retreats, whereas some of their children permanently move here to found a family. Did you know that Gore as well as being sought after for its leisure activities, Gore is also a principal source of drinking water for all of its residents?
